Urakasumi and Sake Accessories masterclass at Restaurant Show

Honami Matsumoto of House of Sake has given Urakasumi and Sake Accessories Masterclass at Restaurant Show 2015 in Olympia – A big thank you to International Wine Challenge.

She has introduced history and philosophy of Urakasumi, then lead the tasting of three different Urakasumi.

Urakasumi Honjikomi Honjozo

Urakasumi Junmai

Urakasumi Zen Junmai Ginjo

as well as given insights into different sakeware and how it affects the perceived taste of sakes.

There were around 30 attendees including wine professionals and end consumers.  This was a free event.

Honami Matsumoto

She has been working with sake for nearly 15 years and is a Kikisakeshi-qualified sake sommelier, WSET-certified educator and an International Wine Challenge(IWC) Panel Judge in the sake category.

Having trained at Leith’s School of Food & Wine and Le Cordon Bleu, Honami is a qualified sommelier and has worked at some of London’s world-renowned restaurants, including Le Gavroche, as well as luxury wine and spirits merchant Hedonism Wines.
